Ashley has been a public school teacher for over twenty years, right here in the triangle area! She holds a dual degree in Psychology and Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was also a NC teaching fellow. She is also a National Board Certified Middle Childhood Educator and recently renewed that certification. Ashley has also worked with students in various foreign countries including Jamaica, Guatemala and The Dominican Republic. Outside of school she loves playing volleyball, gardening and rooting for the Tarheels! She also enjoys traveling, hiking and swimming. In 2010, she was named Teacher of the Year for Partnership Elementary School and is currently pursuing her Environmental Educators Certificate.
